We hope you can join us on Saturday 14th June from 11am onwards to celebrate the launch of our latest beer, OMG. That’s not Oh My God beer but Operation Market Garden. It’s all because a group of regulars from The Bricklayers Arms in Stondon Massey is taking on a charity challenge. The group asked us to create this beer to help them raise funds towards their charity target of £10,000 for Help for Heroes.
This September the OMG group of 17 regulars at The Bricklayers Arms is planning to make a 75 mile yomp through Holland to Arnhem, recreating the route of paratroopers who took part in one of the boldest operations of the Second World War, marking the 70th anniversary and raising money for their chosen charity.
On Saturday 14th June the OMG group will also be at the brewery to celebrate the launch of this new beer. To add to the atmosphere, they’re parking the old Bedford TK Army truck they’re taking with them on their journey to Arnhem, outside the brewery.
Curry prepared by The Great British Raj takeaway of Ongar Road, Brentwood, will be available and they’ll be plenty of Brentwood Beer including our latest, OMG for you to try.
Beer, curry – see you here at 11am on Saturday 14th June!
Operation Market Garden was masterminded by Monty, General Montgomery. It was one of the gutsiest plans of World War II. The mission of 70 years ago this September, involved British and US troops parachuting behind enemy lines from gliders with the aim of capturing bridges on the Dutch/German border, Arnhem included. But the operation was not too successful. Almost 1500 Allied troops died, more than 6,500 were captured and many bridges were blown up by the Germans.
Is it bottled and where can i buy it please?
Regards
Steve
Not sure if you’ve had a reply yet, but we’ve recently updated the site to show you where you can buy our beer, and you’re always welcome to pop into our purpose built store on the brewery site, at Calcott Hall Farm
