Fancy a trip down memory lane, taking you back to the school playground of yesteryear for a very British, seasonal, traditional game of conkers?  Join us for the brewery’s Open Conker Championship on Saturday 10th October from 11am.

Unlike the school playground, there’ll be beer and snacks.  We’ll supply the conkers, a free pint of Brentwood Beer and a Lumberjack sausage in a roll.

You do need to register your entry by calling us on 01277 200 483 or emailing [email protected], to help us with catering arrangements.  Entry costs £5 per person.

“Who doesn’t enjoy a game of conkers?  We thought it would be a great idea to get everyone together to enjoy this truly British, Autumn pastime.  What a great way to spend a Saturday – a fun competition and beer.  What’s not to like?” said brewery MD Roland Kannor.

The brewery’s biggest fan, The Earl of Brentwood, has challenged Somersby Cider’s Lord Somersby to a game of conkers.  No word yet on whether Lord Somersby will be bold enough to join us.  We realise his diary is fairly full, promoting cider and dancing in TV commercials.  But if he doesn’t show, surely that’s a victory for The Earl by default?

Who would you like to challenge to a match?  Bring your mates.  Bar is open until 3.30pm.  Competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over.  Game on.
