Mike Conyers is off on another charity adventure. Last year he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for local charity, SNAP. This week he’s setting off on an extreme Three Peaks Challenge to raise more money for the charity.
Like last year, we have a beer for the occasion. A year ago it was Mike’s Mountain Beer. This time it’s Mike’s Hike 3.7% ABV. For every bottle of Mike’s Hike we sell we’ll be donating 10 pence to SNAP charity which assists Essex families with children and young people who are disabled or have special needs
Mike has set himself yet another gruelling schedule. On 12th September the blind physiotherapist, who works at Crushes Manor Clinic in Pilgrims Hatch, plans to conquer the Three Peaks Challenge. But it seems trekking Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike isn’t sufficiently challenging for Mike. He’s making it tougher still by aiming to yomp through his journey in a speedy 24 hours.
“There’s eight hours of travelling, five of those between Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike, so that leaves just 16 hours, so it is a really big challenge,” said Mike.
“Initially Mike was going to tackle three peaks over three days which is itself pretty demanding. So this is a staggering challenge. How will he manage in just a day?” asked Roland, MD Brentwood Brewing Company.
“I shall need a Mike’s Hike beer to drink afterwards to celebrate and to help me revive and recover,” added Mike.
Mike’s Hike is available in bottles from the Brewery Shop. To sponsor Mike visit www.justgiving.co/MikeConyersThreePeaksFirewalk/ For more information about SNAP charity visit www.charity.org
